Welcome to 1st Bassaleg Scout Group
We are a voluntary run Scout Group based in Bassaleg, Newport, Gwent.
We are one of many Scout Groups which are a part of the Scouting Movement founded by Baden-Powell. Click here to read more.
The Scout Movement alone last year saw the largest growth for 22 years, with more than 15,000 additional members join. Figures revealed a 3.7 per cent increase in youth membership and a 1.7 per cent increase in adult membership. So thats 13,500 in youth membership and 1,500 in adult membership, who have joined in the last 12 months.
In 2011 the Scout Group will be celebrating its 60th anniversary.
The Scout Movement is open to young people between 6 - 25 year olds.
Beaver Scouts 6-8 years old.
Cub Scouts 8-10 ˝ year old.
Scouts 10 ˝- 14 year old.
Explorer Scouts 14 - 18 year old.
